Natalya Talih

Natalya Talih is a senior double-majoring in Political Science and International Studies with a minor in Russian Area Studies. She is originally from Lebanon, raised in the United Arab Emirates, and now calls Dallas home. During her time at SMU, she has been a Pre-Law Scholar, Hamilton Undergraduate Research Scholar and research assistant exploring 21st-century comparative authoritarianism. She also serves as Treasurer for the Society for Russian Studies and the SMU French Club. Natalya has gained legal experience through her internship with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in the immigration department, assisting with refugee and asylum applications as well as providing Arabic translation. Her post-graduation plans include taking a gap year to continue her research project and applying to law school in the upcoming cycle.
