Meryam Uysal

Meryem Uysal is a student at Southern Methodist University pursuing a B.B.A. in Management and a B.A. in Human Rights as part of the University Honors Program and the Pre-Law Scholars Program. On campus, she serves on the programming committee of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and she is also involved in the Women in Law Organization. Her focus centers on the intersection of business, policy, and human rights, with a focus on using research and advocacy to advance justice and opportunity for marginalized communities. She previously conducted policy research as an intern with an Illinois State Representative, where she authored a policy white paper advocating for increased affordable housing.  After graduation, Meryem plans to take a gap year to work and travel internationally before attending law school. Passionate about amplifying the voices of the voiceless, Meryem hopes to build a career in international law and public policy that promotes human dignity and human rights on a global platform.
