Kat Harrington

Kat is a senior majoring in both History and Political Science with a minor in Business. Kat is originally from Michigan, but Dallas has been her home for the past four years. During her time on campus, she has been an active member of the Pre-Law Scholars Program, a participant in the First-Generation Initiative, and has served as a director in her sorority, Delta Gamma. Most recently, she became a member of the new Women in Law Organization.

Kat is currently applying to law schools for fall 2026, and the experiences she has had at SMU have been pivotal in preparing her for this next chapter. The knowledge she has gained through her coursework and her involvement in the Pre-Law Scholars Program has equipped her to succeed in both law school and the legal profession—something that was reinforced this past summer while interning at a Michigan law firm.

Kat is grateful for the opportunities SMU has provided, and she looks forward to carrying these experiences with her as she continues pursuing her path in law.
