Anya Thakkar

Anya Thakkar is a senior at SMU majoring in Economics with a minor in Business and a member of the Pre-Law Scholars Program. During her time at SMU, she gravitated toward roles that sit at the intersection of leadership, creativity, and service. Anya currently serves as Vice President of the business fraternity Phi Chi Theta, Treasurer of SMU Style, SMU’s premier fashion podcast and blog, and Social Chair of Alpha Phi Omega, the university’s service fraternity. She is also a Mustang Mentor, supporting incoming students as they navigate their transition to college life. Her experiences at SMU have shaped her interest in advocacy, storytelling, and problem-solving across professional and community spaces. After graduation, Anya plans to take a gap year to work and gain meaningful professional experience before pursuing law school.
