Dr. Yuxing Wu is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SMU's Lyle School of Engineering. His research spans sustainability technologies, including geothermal energy and subsurface energy storage; petroleum and natural gas engineering systems; heat transfer and thermal management; and multiphase flow. His work combines experimental testing, finite element and numerical modeling, and data-driven methods to improve the integrity and performance of energy systems.
Dr. Wu has authored more than 35 journal and conference papers in venues such as Geothermics, Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, and Journal of Energy Resources Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, where he then served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. During that time, he led his team to first place in the U.S. Department of Energy Geothermal Collegiate Competition.
