SMU Today is a monthly digest for SMU employees, highlighting the people, achievements and initiatives that are shaping the University’s momentum. The newsletter brings together stories, updates and priorities from across the University, showcasing how our community is advancing transformative teaching and programs, research that matters, exceptional experiences, athletics and principled leadership.

It offers a convenient way to stay informed and connected to the work and progress happening across our campus community.

How content is selected

Marketing and Communications produces SMU Today in collaboration with representatives from each school as well as partners across Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Student Affairs and OIT.

Share an idea

Is there something you’d like to share with the broader SMU employee community?

To help keep SMU Today focused and relevant:

  • Submissions should connect to a broad SMU faculty/staff audience and extend beyond a single school or unit (you should be able to clearly explain why it matters to all employees)
  • Entries should be brief (no more than 200 characters) and include a link to a webpage for more information
  • Event promotions are not included in SMU Today at this time

Submissions are considered on a rolling basis throughout the month. Content is typically finalized one week before the send date. In limited cases, late-breaking updates of broad relevance may be considered.
