Civil and Environmental engineers solve problems and critical challenges facing society. The Lyle Civil and Engineering Department explores a broad range of studies, including transportation, smart and resilient infrastructure, water quality and earthquake engineering. Our students learn how to play a crucial role in enabling society to live in sustainable cities, healthy environments and strong economies. As Lyle graduates, they’ll strive to design, build, operate and maintain urban infrastructure to enrich people’s lives and improve how the world functions.
