Business Travel Accident Insurance

SMU provides business travel accident insurance for all full-time staff and faculty who are under age 75 and travel worldwide on business for the University.

This insurance is provided through SMU Risk Management at no cost to eligible staff and faculty.  The plan pays a benefit of $100,000 (up to a group maximum of $1 million) in the event of accidental death or serious injury while traveling on business.  If you have questions, contact the Office of Risk Management at 214-768-2807 for more details.

The Standard Travel Assistance is available when you, your spouse, and/or dependent children (through age 25) travel, for business or for pleasure, more than 100 miles from home or internationally for up to 180 days.  You can request assistance before and during your trip with passports, fund transfers, missing baggage, health and medical information, emergency evacuation, medically necessary repatriation, and many other services.
