Star Serfontein is a sophomore at Southern Methodist University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Business. She is passionate about service, ethical leadership, and understanding how psychology and economics shape human behavior and decision-making. On campus, she serves as Director of Lectureship and Event Planning for Delta Gamma, is a Turner Scholar, and is involved in organizations including Psi Chi, Mock Trial, and SMU RM-Economics. She was also previously involved in research through SMU’s psychology graduate program. Star is excited to serve on the Maguire Ethics Center Student Advisory Board because she believes integrity, authenticity, and intellectual openness are essential to shaping a strong campus community, and she hopes to contribute to a culture of ethical awareness, meaningful dialogue, and thoughtful leadership. After graduation, she hopes to pursue graduate study and a career in behavioral economics.
