Biography

John Lash’s work examines the relationship between international business strategy, national security and regulatory risk. His professional experience includes advising companies on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, investment reviews and compliance across technology and advanced industrial sectors.

Lash founded Darkhorse Global, a firm specializing in geoeconomics and national security strategy. He previously led national security advisory practices at Control Risks and BDO, with an emphasis on reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. His teaching experience includes international business strategy, national security, cybersecurity and forensic accounting at the University of Texas at El Paso, Juniata College and Waynesburg University.

Lash earned a Ph.D. from Robert Morris University, an MBA from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Juniata College. His dissertation investigated the use of game theory to study national security threats associated with foreign investment.
