Warm—up: 2 rounds each

1) Walkout burpee with a “thread the needle” leg push-up to a top leg side plank

(5 each leg)

2) Walking forward lunges with lateral arm lift and twist (10 each leg)


(20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest, as fast as you can do with good form, 4 rounds of each group with 1 

minutes rest in between)

Group 1:

Squat jumps

Mountain climbers 

Group 2:

Lunge skips

Up down plank, alternating the leading arm

Group 3:

Side skaters with a hop to curtsy lunge

Table top tricep dips

Group 4:

Jumping jack to plié squat

Down dog diamond push-ups

Group 5:


Bridge marching

Group 6:

Straight leg bicycles with low boat in between sides 

Elbow plank side-to-side hip dips.

Finish with straight body lying swimming for 45 seconds.

You can take this up a notch by;

1) Adding 10 regular burpees between each grouping

2) Adding a wall sit or plank for 30 seconds between each group 

3) Do each exercise for 45 seconds and rest for 15 and take out the 1 minute rest. 

(Remember to stretch afterward, hamstrings, calves, quads, shoulders, pecs, biceps, triceps, and spinal twist)

Fitness challenge from Lewis:

10 squat jumps; 20 V ups (toe touches); 25 pushups; 50 burpees; 150 squats; 200 crunches;1 min plank 1; min wall sit!!!

Job Opportunity 

SMU Fitness hosts auditions for nationally certified Group X instructors three times a year. Auditions can be scheduled from 9am to 12pm on Fridays during the following months for the upcoming semester:
