Internal Applicant
SMU encourages growth and development for all staff employees. Internal applicants are current SMU staff employees in a regular full-time or part-time position.
Eligibility to Apply:
- Current employees are eligible to apply for posted staff career opportunities after six months of continuous employment in their current position.
- Employees in Step 2 or Step 3 of Corrective Action who are not in good standing cannot apply for posted career opportunities.
How to Apply:
Internal applicants must apply through the self service portal in my.SMU . Internal applicants no longer need to submit an Internal Transfer Form to the Department of Human Resources.
IMPORTANT: If you're a temporary employee, adjunct or student employee, do not apply through Self Service. You must apply as an external applicant via our online application by visiting www.smu.jobs.
