    Chuck Dannis has been a real estate appraiser and consultant since 1972.  He co-founded the Dallas based firm Crosson Dannis, Inc. in 1976.  For over 35 years, the firm provided real estate appraisal and consultation services throughout the U.S. for many of the nation's largest real estate lenders and owners.  In January, 2015, the firm merged with National Valuation Consultants, Inc., to create one of the country's largest privately held real estate appraisal and consulting firms.  Dannis is past chairman of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciary's (NCREIF) Valuation Committee and past treasurer and member of its board (1997 - 2001; 2015- ). He has been an active member of the Pension Real Estate Association, American Real Estate Society, and Urban Land Institute.  A frequent lecturer, Dannis also hosted a weekly talk radio show, "The Real Estate Hour," on the CBS Radio affiliate, KRLD, from 1992 to 2008.  He has taught real estate at Southern Methodist (SMU) Cox School of Business since 1988.  In 2006 he was the first recipient of the "Eugene T. Byrd Endowed Faculty Innovation Award" at Cox.  Dannis is an independent director of the $2 billion+ TIER REIT and was its chairman of the board in 2013-2015.  He is chairman emeritus of The Dallas Marathon and the 2011 recipient of its "Victory Award For Excellence" for his service to the community.  He also serves on the boards of The Friends Of The Katy Trail, The Shelton School in Dallas, and The Folsom Institute for Real Estate at SMU (vice-chair, academics).  Dannis received his BBA from Southern Methodist University, where he also undertook graduate studies in real estate and finance.
