Biography
Valentina Rutigliano is an assistant professor of finance at the SMU Cox School of Business. Her research spans corporate finance, labor economics and entrepreneurship, examining how household, market and technological changes affect entrepreneurs, businesses and workers. Before joining the Cox School in 2025, she was a Stone Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia, where she earned her Ph.D. in finance. Her research has been featured in Forbes.
