Biography
Seth Orsborn is co-executive director of the Hart Institute for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and a professor of practice in entrepreneurship and innovation at the SMU Cox School of Business. His work focuses on the early stages of innovation, including the methods used to develop ideas and bring them to market. He advises and mentors innovators and entrepreneurs across SMU and the Dallas–Fort Worth region.
Before joining SMU Cox, Orsborn directed the Deason Innovation Gym in SMU’s Lyle School of Engineering and taught design and innovation courses in the Master of Arts in Design and Innovation program. Earlier, he developed North American vehicle strategy for Toyota and Lexus.
Orsborn earned a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo, a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
