Biography

Rick Nordtvedt teaches management as an adjunct  at the Cox School. His professional experience encompasses enterprise strategy, organizational transformation and technology leadership, including more than three decades in executive leadership roles across healthcare, logistics, financial services and manufacturing.

Nordtvedt previously served as vice president of software engineering and platform solutions at Vizient, where he led initiatives in acquisition integration, technology strategy and organizational performance measurement. At Gartner, he advised senior executives on business and technology transformation and chaired the CIO Leadership Forum. His earlier leadership roles at FedEx, Essilor of America and Altisource Portfolio Solutions included strategic planning, global operations and the alignment of technology investments with business objectives. He also advised U.S. Naval Aviation leadership on organizational integration and strategic planning.

Nordtvedt earned a Ph.D. in strategic management and management information systems from the University of Memphis, an MBA from Youngstown State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from George Mason University.
