Jody Magliolo

Joseph "Jody" Magliolo, III joined SMU in 1993. He was a Distinguished Professor of Accounting in the Cox School of Business and formerly chaired the Accounting Department. He also served as a past president of the SMU Faculty Senate and as chair of the All-University Finance Committee. Professor Magliolo earned his Ph.D. at Stanford University and completed his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees at the University of Texas at Austin. He specialized in oil and gas accounting as well as bank and financial institution reporting. He received the Cox M.B.A. Distinguished Teaching Award and the Cox School's Research Excellence Award. Additionally, Professor Magliolo was a past president of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association. He retired as Professor Emeritus of Accounting.
