Need to activate your new ID card?

Log in with your SMU ID number and password at http://idcard.smu.edu.  SMU employees and students who need a new or replacement SMU ID card visit the Parking and ID Card Services Office during business hours at your convenience.

Order Your New 2016 Student DART Transit Pass On-line

Current 2015 DART Transit Passes expire on December 31. Renew your annual local DART Transit Pass for FREE or get one for only $5.00 if you don’t already have one. With a DART Transit Pass, riders are able to commute to campus by bus and rail with public transportation that is reliable, economical and hassle free! You must be currently registered for spring classes to be eligible to receive a 2016 student DART transit pass.

Your new 2016 DART Transit Pass will be delivered right to your cell phone. Just download DART’s free GoPass Mobile Ticketing Application at http://www.gopass.biz/ and then register your device. Once you’ve successfully downloaded GoPass click here to order your 2016 DART Transit Pass on-line. You must place your 2016 DART Transit Pass order on-line before Friday, December 4 to ensure delivery by January 1, 2016.

The SMU Express and Museum Express shuttles remain free to all riders and do not require a DART Transit Pass to ride. 

Toys for Tickets  November 23rd to December 21st 

SMU Parking and ID Card Services is offering campus community members who have unpaid parking citations the opportunity to pay off parking tickets by donating toys of equal or grater value than the cost of the tickets.  Ticket dismissal only applies to unpaid SMU parking tickets issued for unauthorized parking, parking without a permit, over time parking or improper display of a permit.  

To participate in Toys for Tickets exchange, drivers must bring the parking ticket, toy and receipt to Parking and ID Card Services by December 21st. Types of toys include new, non-violent, unwrapped toys.

Fall Parking Rules Now in Effect

  • Normal parking is in now effect starting Monday, August 10th
  • Enforcement hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mon - Fri
  • Permits are required to park your car on campus at all times all year round
  • Students with valid SMU parking permits may park in any area indicated for the permit type on the campus parking map.
  • Lettered employee lots remain parking by assignment only and the appropriate permit is required
  • Employees park in AUP or as indicated on the campus parking map for the type of permit.

Need a Permit?

  • Students registered for the current Fall Semester or Spring Semester classes (after Nov 2nd)
    may order permits online (just log on to your My Parking Account using your SMU ID and Password)
  • Employees may obtain permits in our office or contact us for more information parking@smu.edu
  • Visitors can purchase permits in our office, online as a Guest or use any self-pay & park location referenced on the visitor parking map

Rider Alert - SMU Express (768) and Museum Express (743) 

The SMU Express (768) will not operate Thursday, November 26 through Sunday, November 29.  Regular service will resume on Monday, November 30.
The Museum Express (743) will not operate on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 26) but will otherwise operate as normal.  

Below are the Thanksgiving holiday and winter break schedules for the SMU Express (768) route.   

• Out of session schedule begins on Friday, December 18.  
• Graduation is on Saturday, December 19 – last day for Saturday service.   
• University Offices are closed December 24 through January 1.
• No Service on December 25 or January 1.  
• The first day of classes is Friday, January 15 - In Session service resumes
• Out of Session Schedule operated on MLK Day, Monday, January 18.

For all replacement ID cards visit the Parking and ID Card Services Office located on the corner of SMU Blvd. and Central Expressway, Ste. 101. 

As restricted by the City of University Park, the east end of the Commuter Lot on University Blvd., east of Airline Rd.,  does not permit any parking for Construction Vehicles, SMU-Owned Service Vehicles, Motor Coaches (buses) or Recreational Vehicles indefinitely.
