Year I Joined the Office of Admission: 2022

Favorite thing about SMU: I love the campus! From the moment I first stepped onto the Boulevard, I knew SMU was the place for me. This place is beautiful, and I love being here when all the students are outside enjoying it. Each undergraduate college has its own personality and vibe. I love walking into Meadows to catch a glimpse of dress rehearsal performances. Dedman College is a classic on campus, but don’t get caught stepping on the seal in Dallas Hall! Rumor has it, you won’t graduate in 4 years. Cox conversations are my favorites to observe. Lyle’s innovation and technology on display inspire me to think about the future; and with education being my favorite subject, it’s hard for me not to find a kindred spirit at Simmons. It’s so much fun being on campus and experiencing it all over again.

Favorite place on campus: That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say the Meadows School of the Arts. The college just finished a 2.5 year renovation and the space is spectacular! The talent housed in Meadows is off the charts! I love walking the halls and hearing vocal and instrumental warmups. The art on display is incredible! And the students…I don’t think there are a cooler group of people on campus!

Favorite place in Dallas: My family and I love birds and wildlife. The John Bunker Sands Wetland Center is a short drive just outside of the city but the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. It’s less than 30 minutes from campus. Check it out!

Favorite restaurant near campus: I LOVE so many; it’s hard to choose! When in Texas, I believe it’s criminal not to experience Tex Mex. Rusty Taco has the best breakfast tacos in town!

What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: Dallas has great shopping, restaurants, and art! I’d say spend the morning at the Nasher Sculpture Gardens, enjoy lunch at the Klyde Warren Park food trucks, and head over to Highland Park Village for some afternoon shopping.
