We strive to reward your student’s academic achievement and consider your family’s financial circumstances as we work with you to support your student’s educational goals. If you have not already done so, please follow these instructions:
Simply submit two forms by your chosen application deadline: November 1 for Early Decision I and Early action or January 15 for Early Decision II or Regular Decision. These are priority deadlines. Both forms will be available October 1, 2016.

U.S. and dual citizens and permanent residents seeking eligibility for federal and state sources of aid must submit the FAFSA each year.

2. The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE®
for institutional aid
For SMU opportunity grants, you must submit a CSS/PROFILE financial application each year. This will give our financial aid advisors more information to further assess your financial need. There is a $25 cost for completing the CSS/PROFILE.

ORIENTATION AT SMU
As you start to make plans for your student's first semester at SMU, you are probably curious about the orientation process for first-year students. All students are required to attend both an Academic Advising and Registration Orientation (AARO) in July and Mustang Corral in August before the Fall semester begins. You will receive detailed information and registration instructions for these programs in the coming weeks.
