Stampede is the ultimate student-only experience designed to welcome all new Mustangs to the Hilltop. Students beginning classes for the first time in the spring semester will attend a January Stampede and students starting classes for the first time either in the summer or fall semesters will attend Stampede in August.

After New Student Move-In is completed between August 16th and 17th, Stampede will officially begin with our Kickoff event on Thursday, August 17th at 6:30 pm. Because Stampede is traditionally a student-only event, parents are encouraged to depart campus but may continue exploring the DFW area before returning home.

Prior to our Kickoff event, there will be activities for parents and families to attend on August 16th OR 17th. On both days, Family Fest will take place on Level 2 of Hughes-Trigg Student Center starting at 3:30 pm, followed by the Mustang Cookout on the Lower Level of Hughes-Trigg Student Center at 4:30 pm. Families are encouraged to attend the events for the day that corresponds with their move-in date.
