About
Kelly Jean Brock, D.B.A. is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics, including stops in the Big East, Big Ten, SEC, and several mid-major institutions.
Dr. Brock's teaching emphasizes the connection between the classroom and practice, preparing students to become thoughtful, ethical, and effective leaders. Her classroom incorporates experiential learning, case studies, and real-world applications that draw on her extensive experience in leadership, organizational strategy, student success, and sport management.
Her professional focus is on leadership, gender equity, organizational effectiveness, and strategy, with particular interest in advancing women in executive leadership roles within intercollegiate athletics. She earned a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science in Student-Athlete Development from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sport Management from Florida State University.
