Biographical Note:

Condoleezza Rice served as U.S. secretary of state during the second term of the George W. Bush presidency, from 2005 to 2009. Before her cabinet post, Rice served as the National Security Advisor to President Bush during his first term (2001-2005), as well as a member of the National Security Council under President George H.W. Bush and as an intern in the State Department during the presidency of Jimmy Carter. In addition, Dr. Rice maintains an academic career at Stanford University, where she has served as professor and provost. She is currently the Tad and Dianne Taube Director of the Hoover Institution.
