    Matthew B. Myers is the ninth dean of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, where he holds the Tolleson Chair in Business Leadership & the David B. Miller Endowed Professorship. SMU-Cox offers undergraduate and graduate degrees to about 2,500 students annually and maintains a global alumni network of an estimated 42,000. Prior to his deanship at SMU Cox, Myers served as dean and Mitchell P. Rales Chair of Business Leadership at the Farmer School of Business, Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.    

    Before joining academia, Myers worked at both Merrill-Lynch and IBM-Argentina. He has consulted with organizations in the engineering, distribution, chemical, insurance, financial services, ranching & agriculture, customer engagement, and pharma industries, and has served as visiting faculty at ESSEC-Paris and the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He has taught at the Vienna University of Economics and in other locations including Italy, Romania, Taiwan and Uzbekistan, and has led executive education courses worldwide. Myers is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors & the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, & serves on the board of King Ranch, Inc., the Maguire Energy Institute, the Southwest Graduate School of Banking, the Mission Foods Texas-Mexico Center in the John G. Tower Center for Political Studies, Goodwill Industries-Dallas, & the Baylor Health Foundation. He is also an advisory council member for the George Bush Institute for Economic Growth. Over the course of his academic career, his expertise has also resulted in some media appearances, and has been cited or appeared on CNBC, Fox Business, CBS Radio, the Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal.

    Myers received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University and a Masters of International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1979 to 1982, primarily in Panama. Myers, his wife Gina and their twin daughters live in Dallas, Texas.
