  • Bio

    Jim Chester joins us as a professor of practice after serving as an adjunct professor at Cox since 2019. His courses include “Business Law” and “Entrepreneurial Legal Strategies”.  He previously taught for 20 years as an adjunct professor of law at Baylor Law School and has also taught at the University of Dallas and Texas A&M-Commerce.  Jim is an accomplished technology business attorney with over 25 years of experience and is a successful entrepreneur.  He received his undergraduate degree in Economic and Political Science from Texas A&M- Commerce, his Juris Doctor degree from South Texas, and his Master of Laws degree in international business law from the University of Houston Law Center.  

    Jim’s wife is a 1996 Cox graduate and they and their four children live in Health, where Jim serves on the Heath City Council and on the board of its Economic Development Corporation.  He is the inventor of “Chester’s Grilling Blend” (a spice blend sold nationwide), and his salsa won 3rd place in the State of Texas.
