Visioneering is a free event focused on bringing together middle school students, working engineers, innovators, and noted figures from a variety of industries and businesses to celebrate the ways that engineering makes a difference in the word around us. It gives students the opportunity to play “engineer for the day!”
The goal of this event is to encourage more middle school students from all communities to actively participate in and stay interested in pursuing a STEM career by engaging with others already working in these fields.
What began in 2000 with 250 student participants quickly grew to an annual event hosting more than 900 students per year on the SMU campus in a single day. Over the 18-year period, SMU Lyle hosted close to 12,000 students and connected with more than 400 schools from a multitude of regions.
