Emily received her E.D. in Higher Education from Southern Methodist University in May, 2020.
Emily's passion for student-athlete academic success helped guide her dissertation which is titled "Conceptualization and Strategies of Academic Success Utilized by Collegiate Women Student-Athletes." Emily was a soccer student-athlete at Troy University before graduating with both a B.A. and a M.S. in Sport & Fitness Management. Most recently, Emily served as the Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) at SMU. Before joining the SAAS staff, she was the Academic Coordinator at Troy University where she worked with 16 different sports as an advisor, tutor coordinator, lecturer, and mentor. Emily found her way to Alabama from Louisville, Kentucky, where she was a POWERADE McDonald's High School All American and Miss KY Soccer. She enjoys playing sports and attending different athletic events.
ADSA provides academic counseling to help student-athletes make informed decisions about their degree, major selection, plan their semester courses, and maintain their NCAA eligibility.
