SMU's Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development offers four courses (three credits each) that prepare teachers to take the TExES supplemental certification exam in bilingual education, which is required for teachers who work with students who do not speak English as their native language.
Since most of the students are in-service teachers, classes meet in the late afternoon and evenings during the spring and fall semesters and during the day of summer sessions.
