Hobbies...

I love playing badminton in my free time. I also enjoy reading, especially popular science, historical, economics books. Recently, I read the novel “Three-Body” which sparked my curiosity about the universe and astronomy. I like outdoor activities. Since it rains quite often in my home country, I feel that sunny days are precious, and I like to spend them outside whenever I can.

Why Economics...

Economics is a fascinating subject for me. Almost every economic theory can be explained through intuitive reasoning, and I was amazed by this when I first started learning economics.

I also find it interesting that economics can be applied to many different fields, such as education, sport, health care, and public policy. I believe that education is one of the most important ways to help a country thrive and improve people’s well-being. So I hope to contribute to policy evaluation through my research.

Moreover, economics has broadened my perspective and helped me see the world from different points of view.

Interesting fact about me...

First, I don’t like air conditioning. I prefer natural breeze. In Taiwan, I don’t need air conditioning at all. I can sleep very well without air conditioning even during the summer. That is most interesting (weird) thing about me.

Secondly, my high-school math was terrible, but I do well with university-level math. This is also a very weird thing that people always think I’m a strange person. I can solve the difficult calculus problem, but I struggle with basic sphere, square, triangle problem or algebra. (But I studied Linear Algebra quite well.)
