    A truly modern-day renaissance man, shawn is making a profound and lasting impact across multiple and disparate fields. Learning leader, keynote speaker, events emcee, business consultant, adjunct professor, multi-media artist, and recovering musician are just a few of the roles he currently embraces. Currently, shawn serves as Head of Learning, Communications, & Talent for General Datatech, a 1.2B global IT services provider. A lifelong learner and avid believer in education and development, shawn is Adjunct Professor of Management & Organizations at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University where he teaches Human Capital & Talent Management to undergraduate business majors and moderates leadership programs at the James A. Collins Executive Education Center. Founder of his own creative leadership consultancy, shawn partners with executives and organizations to develop and transform their evolving cultures and emerging leaders. Former clients have partnered with shawn to create everything from multi-level synchronous cohort-based leadership programs to aligning strategic plans around refreshed sets of core values. A frequent keynote speaker, events emcee, panel moderator, and awards ceremony host, shawn delivers inspiring and impactful messages across the US and abroad. As artist and curator at MultifariousMusing, shawn creates dynamic and striking statement pieces across multiple mediums including paintings, watercolors, sketches, drawings, pottery, ceramics, sculpture, woodworking, custom framing, and bespoke furniture. As a former music director and conductor, shawn has performed orchestra, opera, and musical theatre on many of the world’s greatest stages, eliciting electrifying performances from the musicians and lauded reviews from composers, attendees, and critics. shawn holds a doctor of musical arts in conducting from the Catholic University of America, a master of music in conducting from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor of music in music education from the Algur H. Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. He furthered his training as an inaugural member of the American Academy of Conducting at the Aspen Music Festival and School and holds the Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional certification, Hogan Assessment certification, and the Predictive Index – Certified Analyst certification. Recognized as one of the Top 50 Leaders in Learning & Development - Americas, shawn was invited to chair the inaugural L&D Influencers Forum in London, UK. As a musician, in addition to winning numerous awards, scholarships, and fellowships on piano, trombone, and in conducting, he represented the United States as one of only a few American conductors invited to participate in the Vakhtang Jordania international conducting competition in Kharkov, Ukraine and was a frequent guest on CNN Headline News and WBJC, Baltimore’s classical radio. As an artist, he has curated and judged art exhibitions, his own works have been on display in numerous galleries, earning him multiple awards including a first-place ribbon for his oil painting, “hindsight”, and he was invited to compete in the Art Battle live painting competition. As a volunteer, shawn has served on the Greenbelt Arts Advisory Committee, the Texas Visual Arts Association’s Downtown Gallery Board, the DallasHR Board of Directors, the SHRM Voice of Work Panel, and is a proud member of the SMU CHRO Roundtable.
