Biography

Carlos E. Davila received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX, USA, in 1981, 1983, and 1988, respectively, all in electrical engineering where he was associated with the Biomedical Engineering Program. Since 1988, he has been with Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, USA. His research interests include biomedical and statistical signal processing, and computational neuroscience.

Honors and Awards

  • IEEE Outstanding Service Award (for service to local Signal Processing Society), 1993.

  • SEAS Outstanding Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Professor, 1992.

  • Annual Engineering Foundation Award for Exemplary Performance in Engineering Teaching While Pursuing a Graduate Degree (College of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin), 1987.
