Biography

Dr. Frank Coyle led software development for various state and federal contracts. He developed an internal database to help municipalities identify best-match industries for development opportunities, and worked on contracts for planning software with the U.S. Army with a Top Secret clearance to develop applications for the U.S. Department of Defense.

 

Dr. Coyle has over 30 years experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at SMU. He helped initiate the MS program in Software Engineering and Cybersecurity and developed curriculum and courses for the MS Online program in Computer Science with AI Specialization.

  • Recipient of "Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award" 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.
