The AT&T Data Science Scholars program consists of an eight-week Data Science program followed by an eight-week paid internship with AT&T.

AT&T Data Science Program

In the AT&T Data Science program, you’ll gain experience with state-of-the-art data science methods and tools and their real-world application to big data. In particular, you’ll learn Machine Learning concepts through Python. You’ll get a chance to interact with key speakers and collaborators from AT&T. The 40-hour hybrid format will include self-paced online, LIVE online and in-person class sessions. When you finish the 8-week program, you’ll earn a non-credit certificate of completion in the AT&T Data Science Scholars program from SMU Global, Online and Continuing Education.

An internship with AT&T puts you face to face in our Chief Data Office, which includes a team of leaders transforming our business through data-driven decisions. Every day, they are advancing our customer’s experience and businesses around the globe. We are using the latest in data science to curate, analyze and improve our customer experience and future operations too. We’re ready for you to play a big part in that future!

As a summer intern in our Data Science Internship, you’ll work to build solutions with data-driven insights, artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation. This 8-week internship is your chance to gain experience making you stand out. And with our Chief Data Office know-how and access to one of most diverse and largest data sets available, you can make an impact and develop meaningful insights inspiring continuous innovation.

But what will you really do here? You’ll use your data science or engineering talents for breaking down business problems by analyzing data and guiding improvements. You will also help influence customer satisfaction and generate millions in potential savings and revenue. Your solutions could influence everything from fleet optimization, machine learning and energy efficiency to content analytics and marketing – often before the problem ever occurs. And with the ongoing skill development and collaboration with some of the brightest minds in the field, you’ll be poised to make your mark.

 

Who Should Apply

SMU students who are:

  • Current juniors (graduating December 2024 or after)
  • Seniors on accelerated pathways
  • Graduating seniors who will be immediately entering a graduate program
  • Current graduate or doctoral students

Please review prerequisites here. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be planning to enroll in courses in Fall 2024.
