The
Division of Music is internationally recognized for its award-winning students,
outstanding faculty, renowned performing ensembles and an exceptional learning
environment. Offering degrees in performance, composition, music education,
music therapy and numerous specializations, the Division serves 300 undergraduate,
graduate and artist certificate students. Each student receives personalized
instruction and attention from a faculty of more than 65 members through private
lessons, performances and a comprehensive core curriculum in music history and
theory.
Students also have the opportunity to perform with some of the nation’s finest collegiate ensembles in a full season of concerts — including an annual opera production, a concerto competition and a gala performance at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Ensembles travel to conferences and festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad, and the Visiting Artist Series brings outstanding performers, conductors, composers, and scholars into direct contact with students. The Division of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the Texas Association of Music Schools.
