Message from
the Vice President for
Student Affairs

Welcome to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and to the homepage for the Division of Student Affairs at SMU. The Vice President for Student Affairs oversees a network of departments, services, programs and activities focused on providing support for students’ out-of-classroom experiences and co-curricular learning. The following departments report to the Vice President for Student Affairs.

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs also serves as a resource to students and families needing assistance solving a problem or navigating the university. You may use the SMU Round-Up / One-Stop Problem Solving page to contact a university department or to post a question.

SMU has innumerable opportunities for students to: become involved in the life of the university; develop their leadership skills; nurture their “mind, body and spirit”; prepare for careers and for graduate school; understand the responsibilities of living and studying in a university community; and develop life-long friendships with classmates who hail from all over the United States and the world.

Whether you are a student, parent/family member, a faculty or staff member, I encourage you to use this website as a resource for valuable information about the division of student affairs and issues of importance to the student experience at SMU.

Sincerely,

Lori White
