Professor Stanley holds a Ph.D. from Yale University.

Wilson’s comments have appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek and Reuters, among others.

Kathleen B. Cooper is an expert on the banking and energy industries. Previously, she served as Dean of the College of Business at the University of North Texas (2005 to 2007) and as Under Secretary for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Commerce Department (2001 to 2005). During the 1990s,
Dr. Cooper was Chief Economist for the ExxonMobil Corporation. She earlier held positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Economist of Security Pacific National Bank and Chief Economist of the United Banks of Colorado. She is currently
Chair of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a director of the Williams
Companies, a Tulsa-based natural gas company. Dr. Cooper holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Colorado.

Dr. Leong's scholarship focuses on Islamic groups and ideological change; she is working on a comparative study of how religious groups in Indonesia and Turkey contribute to democratization in those countries. She recently contributed a chapter on Islam and the Indonesian state to a forthcoming volume titled “Sacred Matters, Stately Concerns: Essays on Faith and Politics in Asia.” Dr. Leong teaches undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education courses on Comparative Politics, the Politics of Southeast Asia, the Politics of the Middle East, and the Politics of Islam. Dr. Leong received her B.A. in English and M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University.

As a labor economist and member of the regional group, Pia Orrenius analyzes the regional economy, with special focus on the border region. Orrenius’ research also focuses on the causes and consequences of Mexico–U.S. migration, unauthorized immigration and U.S. immigration policy. Orrenius spent the 2004–05 academic year as senior economist on the Council of Economic Advisers in the Executive Office of the President, Washington D.C., where she advised the Bush administration on labor, health and immigration issues.
