Joint Admission Medical Program

What is JAMP?

JAMP (Joint Admission Medical Program) is an undergraduate pipeline program created by the Texas Legislature in 2003 to close the gap between participation and success for highly qualified, economically disadvantaged Texans pursuing their dream of becoming a doctor. JAMP's unique partnership between Texas public and private (Baylor College of Medicine) medical programs and participating public and private institutions has provided immeasurable opportunities for program participants, many of whom are today practicing physicians in Texas and around the country. As a private institution, SMU provides services and support to program participants, including academic counseling, advising, and community building.
