Pro Bono Placement Opportunities
There are two primary ways to find opportunities to complete your public service/pro bono hours:
Pre-Approved Placement List
The Pre-Approved Placement List contains organizations that have already been approved by SMU Dedman School of Law for public service credit.
Students can search the list and click on an organization's name to learn more about its work and find contact information for supervisors who may be accepting volunteers.

Paladin Opportunities
Students may also find opportunities through Paladin, where organizations post pro bono and public service opportunities throughout the year.
Students can browse available opportunities and sign up directly through the platform.
Interested in a Placement Not on the List?
If you would like to complete public service hours with an organization that is not on the Pre-Approved Placement List, you must obtain approval before beginning your service.
