Dr. Andrew Davies, Director of Research for SMU Dedman Law's Deason Criminal Justice Reform Center is the recipient of the 2020 Michael K. Moore Award for Excellence in Research or Writing in the Area of Indigent Criminal Defense given by the State Bar of Texas and the Legal Services to the Poor in Criminal Matters Committee. This award is named after Dr. Michael K. Moore for his role in research and writing efforts that had an impact on the indigent defense in Texas. Dr. Davies will be recognized at the Bar Leaders Recognition Luncheon that is held in connection with the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting scheduled for June 25, 2020.
