National Public Defense Workload Study Webpage is Coming Soon

The National Public Defense Workload Study (NPDWS) serves as the national standard to accurately measure caseloads for public defenders. The NPDWS has been used nationwide to challenge excessive caseloads, demand resources and win court rulings to more effectively manage workload.

The Deason Center's NPDWS webpage will provide public defenders with a step-by-step guide to calculate attorney staffing needs using real caseload data.

The NPDWS is already shaping how courts, policymakers and public defenders evaluate caseloads and the Deason Center’s NPDWS webpage will make this invaluable tool more accessible to the people who need it most.

Join us July 29th for a Deason Center CJR Workshop with Policy Director Malia Brink to walk through and explore the NPDWS webpage.
