Tessa Peterson
Tessa Peterson is from Montgomery, Texas, and is double majoring in political science and psychology with a minor in public policy and international affairs through the Tower Scholars Program. At SMU, Tessa is a Dedman College Scholar, a Pre-Law Scholar, a member of the Bridwell Scholars Reading Group, and a Hamilton Scholar studying migration and human rights. Tessa is involved as a member of Student Foundation’s Tate Lecture Series Committee, a research assistant in the Family Health and Development Lab, an SMU Tour Guide and Ambassador, and Associate Editor of the political studies journal, The Dialogue. She is also involved in RUF Campus Ministry, Alpha Kappa Psi, and Phi Alpha Delta. Outside of SMU, Tessa has interned at law firms in Dallas and Prague, volunteers at a local elementary school through AmeriCorps Reading Partners, and was a member of a task force and PAC for her school district bond election. Tessa’s interest in public policy centers around education and diplomacy, and she plans on attending law school after graduating.
