Building namesake 

Paul E. Martin was a bishop in the North Texas Conference and alum of SMU. Later he became a trustee of the institution.

What you can expect

Students by fire enjoying smores

Adulting Bingo

Adulting Bingo is a fun and interactive way to engage in a variety of topics that focus on life skills that range from exploring the city of Dallas to financial literacy. Participants learn skills and reflect on the experiences. This series of programs is designed to prepare our community for life after SMU.

Block Out the Stress

Upper Division housing is proud to plan and host the yearly signature event, Block Out the Stress.The UDH Community Council spends all year brainstorming activities, food, and giveaways to ensure everyone who attends can take a break from the stress of finals in the spring and enjoy an afternoon with friends. Typical activities include food trucks, swag, giveaways, and games.

Cooking Crew - Nontraditional Thanksgiving

Once a semester, the UDH Cooking Crew organizes a community wide dinner open to all. The crew purchases supplies for residents to make their own family favorite meals to be shared at the end of the day at a community wide potluck. Anyone with a passion for cooking or baking is encouraged to join, no prior experience necessary!

Assistant Residential Community Director

Matt is from Amarillo, Texas.  He earned a Bachelor's of Science from Texas A&M University, and is currently working on a Master's in Higher Education from SMU.  When he isn't working or in class, he enjoys watching football, basketball, Formula 1, and reading comic books.
