The Dallas Independent School District was represented in the Tasby litigation by the law firm of Strasburger & Price, with Robert Hyer Thomas serving as the DISD’s lead trial attorney. Strasburger & Price donated its Tasby files to the Underwood Law Library in December 2004. The files contain approximately 66 linear feet of materials.

Mr. Thomas graduated from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1957 where he was Associate Editor of the Southwestern Law Journal. He graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University in 1953.

Mr. Thomas has been active in several professional organizations and has served, among other positions, as President of the Dallas Bar Association, Director of the State Bar of Texas, Fellow of the American College of Probate Counsel, Chairman of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and Chairman of the Fifth Circuit Judicial Conference. He received Southern Methodist University’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1988 and in 1995.
