Professor Natalie Nanasi’s article, Death of the Particular Social Group, will soon be published in the NYU Review of Law and Social Change. The article reveals that restrictions imposed by the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Trump administration’s overruling of case law recognizing domestic violence and family membership as a basis for asylum, have effectively eradicated one of only five grounds for asylum protection. Professor Nanasi has been invited to discuss the article at the Gender Law and Policy Colloquium at Boston University School of Law. She has also written two op-eds in The Hill addressing issues central to the piece.
