Annual Scholarly Impact Reports

Each spring, the library compiles a report on faculty scholarly impact, including downloads and citations from HeinOnline, Google Scholar, SSRN, and Westlaw.

ORCID

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) provides a unique, persistent identifier that stays with you throughout your career, regardless of name changes or institutional affiliation.

For more information and to obtain an ORCID ID, visit the SMU Libraries ORCID page

When registering for an ORCID ID, it is recommended that you notify Marja Pietilainen-Rom, our Scholarly Initiatives Librarian, and add her to your account as a trusted individual to ensure uninterrupted support.

Perma.cc

The law library is a member of Perma.cc, a service that creates permanent records of web pages cited in scholarship. This helps prevent “link rot,” which occurs when cited pages are changed or no longer available.

To begin using Perma.cc, contact Ask a Librarian.

Scholar, SMU's Institutional Repository

Scholar is SMU’s institutional repository, providing open access to the university’s scholarly output. The library maintains a collection of law faculty publications, including articles, books, and book chapters.

To add new publications, email updates to newpublications@list.smu.edu.

SSRN

SSRN supports the rapid global dissemination of research through subject-specific networks, including the Legal Scholarship Network. Faculty are encouraged to keep their SSRN profiles up to date.

For assistance, contact Marja Pietilainen-Rom.

Scholastica

Scholastica allows faculty to submit manuscripts to participating law journals. The law school covers submission fees of $6.50 per submission.
