Humon Khadivar

Humon is from Plano, Texas, and is triple majoring in Economics, Political Science, and Public Policy with a minor in Public Policy and International Affairs through the Tower Scholars Program. Besides being a Highland Capital Management Tower Scholar, Humon is also a Pre-Law Scholar and has served as a member of SMU’s Emerging Leaders organization. He is a Honor Roll with Distinction recipient and a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity Society of Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and the Golden Key International Honor Society. In high school, Humon was the Senior Class Representative of his school’s Student Council. Humon’s research focuses on a range of topics including the drawbacks of our criminal justice system with respect to aspects such as discrimination, mandatory minimums, and the “trial penalty.” He has also conducted research on the debate between free trade and protectionism. He has broadened his work by working as an Engineering Assistant for a structural engineering firm. After graduating, Humon plans to attend law school and ultimately pursue a career in politics.
