Matthew Reitz

Matthew Reitz is a Strategy Advisor at the Department of the Army, where he provides strategic analysis and supports long-term planning priorities. His position follows the consolidation of the Policy and Global Affairs Office within the Department of Defense, and his work continues to focus on policy, strategy, and international affairs at a high level.

Matthew previously served in several roles at the Department of Defense, including Special Assistant and Strategic Planner in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. He has additional experience supporting political and civic initiatives in Texas, where he contributed to grassroots campaign and legislative efforts.

Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science, economics, and international studies from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also completed the John G. Tower Scholars Program at SMU. He later earned a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
