Lillian "Lily" Derr
Lillian “Lily” Derr, a Dallas, Texas native, is a Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, where she recently published with Tower Center Fellow Mark Wynne. She previously worked as a consultant for the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Economic Growth Initiative and as an Undergraduate Fellow at the Commercial Diplomacy Initiative at SMU Cox. Lily graduated from SMU with a double major in mathematics and political science, and minors in environmental engineering and public policy and international affairs through the Tower Scholars Program. She was a Tower Scholar, a Dedman College Scholar, a Pre-Law Scholar, a Grand Challenges Scholar, a Provost Scholar, a Millwee Scholar, a Discovery Scholar, an Undergraduate Research Assistant, and an Engaged Learning Fellow. During her time at SMU, she served as the Student Representative to the SMU Board of Trustees on the Academic Policy, Planning, & Management Committee; President of the University Honors Program Student Advisory Council; Student Representative on the Faculty Advisory Council; and Undergraduate Representative on the President's Commission on the Status of Women. In addition to these roles, she also served on the Dedman College Executive Board, contributing to college-level strategic discussions and academic priorities.
