Madi is a first year PhD student from Houston, interested in the intersection of gender, religion, and social activism activism in the 19th century US South. Before coming to SMU, she taught high school history, rhetoric, and Latin. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in national and state parks, cooking, thrifting, and spending time with her friends, family, and cat.
