Dissertation Title:

"Turning the Page: Republican Ascendancy in Yellow-Dog Mississippi"

Jim's dissertation examines the formation of political identity in the American South using Mississippi as a prism.  He is answering the questions of when, how, and why did Mississippi become a "red" state with a majority of its voters identifying as Republicans.  He is currently an adjunct instructor of history at the University of Mississippi.
